Dr. Kerry Ridgway, a veterinarian with many years specializing in equine performance issues, has found that saddle fit is the root cause of so many problems. The problems include behavior, performance deficit,back pain, and soundness. In order to understand the complexities of saddles and their effect on the behavior and biomechanics of the horse, he has spent years studying saddle fit with master saddle makers, master fitters and saddle repair people.
